Director Commercial Operations
Description
The Director of Commercial Operations is responsible for directing all sales, marketing and contracting/pricing activities within Canada. He/She is responsible for preparing and presenting all materials for Plan/Update cycles and Business Reviews to the General Manager. The Director Of Commercial Operations, along with the General Manager and Controller, is a major stakeholder responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring strategies and tactics to maintain and grow revenue and contribution margin business while improving economic profitability. Develop and achieve the annual commercial plan. Develop, implement and monitor key strategies and tactics to improve economic profitability. Ensure all Canada commercial functions are compliant with Quality System and OEC policies and are adequately prepared for all audits performed by internal organizations or outside regulatory agencies. Establish performance goals and incentive plans utilizing the Performance Excellence process for the Canada commercial team, and provide regular feedback to the organization on progress against goals. Direct the hiring, training and development of the commercial team to achieve targeted results while complying with applicable laws, regulations and OEC standards. Create and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to assist in re-establishing credibility as a leader in clinical diagnostics. Develop and maintain strong working relationships within and outside , including R&D, Operations/Quality, Systems Development and Support, Legal/OEC, and Global Marketing. Build a detailed understanding of the strategies and tactics of key competitors and adapt strategies and tactics to counteract. Administration of all contracting and pricing for customers in Canada. Provide regular input to Global Marketing Canada market/customer needs Develop, motivate and challenge staff to achieve top performance by utilizing the PEx process to establish, monitor and provide regular direct feedback regarding Goals, Core Job Requirements and Growth Plans.

"Skills/Experience Requirements-Undergraduate university studies in Business or Science -5 to 8 years experience in asimilar position -Strong analytical skills; -Strong interpersonal skills; -Ability to work with autonomy will also be important as the individual will frequently be in a position where critical decisions must be made without further consultation; -Excellent communication skills are required to clearly express the Canadian requirements to Global Marketing and provide direction to the Canadian sales team across a broad and diverse product portfolio. -This position involves a fair amount of travel to the US and throughout Canada (Time away from the office approx. 30%); -Ability to take key actions and demonstrate behavioral anchors the support all Abbott leadership competencies. -Job requires daily use of basic computer software like MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Lotus notes and the Internet.Undergraduate university studies in Business or Science"
