Reimbursement Strategy Manager
Description
The Manager â Reimbursement Strategy develops strategies to secure timely listing of the company's brands on provincial, federal and private formularies for a specified cluster of the company brands, in order to fully leverage brand contribution to sales and MR. He/she has a thorough understanding of the characteristics and dynamics of the Canadian drug reimbursement environment; of the JODR and the CDR processes; of the role and decision-making of the cancer agencies; of federal, provincial and private formulary decision-making, and of their interaction with external stakeholders. The Manager â Reimbursement Strategy, leverages this payer environment knowledge to develop, in collaboration with the Brand Team, optimal brand pricing, market positioning and stakeholder influence strategies to achieve broad and timely reimbursement for brands under his/her responsibility. He/she prepares high quality, impactful, payer submissions and the development of payer negotiation strategies, in collaboration with the Health Policy Team. He/she acts as a resource person to members of the brand teams and other associates on market pricing and reimbursement issues. As The Manager â Reimbursement Strategy your main responsibilities will consist of the following: • Develop strategies to fully leverage the reimbursement potential of major public and private formularies across Canada for a specified brand portfolio. • Assess the clinical and PharmacoEconomic evidence used in support of brand reimbursement and issue recommendations to correct the most significant gaps. • Provide advice to Clinical Development to ensure payer requirements are considered even in the design and execution of clinical trials. • Lead the development of an optimal brand pricing strategy, in collaboration with the Director â Pricing and HE, HE Managers, Global Pricing Reimbursement and with Brand Directors/Managers. • Determine optimal brand positioning to secure the broadest possible and timeliest formulary listing of his/her brands. • Develop a stakeholder/influencer strategy to facilitate positive JODR/CDR/drug plan decisions, in collaboration with Brand Directors / Managers; National Stakeholder Relations Manager and the Health Policy Team. • Participate as a submission content expert to payer meetings organized by Health Policy Field Directors, and to JODR/CDR meetings. • Develop and maintain expertise on JODR/CDR and provincial decision-making processes and use this expertise to develop innovative pricing and reimbursement models.
Specific knowledge
Minimum requirements Education:â¢University degree in business, economics and / or life sciencesâ¢Graduate degree in business, economics or life sciences an assetLanguages:â¢English proficiencyâ¢French Experience/Skills: â¢Experience (> 5 years) in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Sales, Science Ops, Key Account Management, Policy or Reimbursementâ¢Sales or Brand Management experience an assetâ¢Strong scientific and business acumenâ¢Superior capacity to quickly grasp complex scientific issuesâ¢Expert negotiation skillsâ¢Excellent written/verbal presentation skills and ability to interact with key or difficult customers
