Description

POSITION: DISTRICT BUSINESS MANAGER •Accountable for sales performance against operating plan in assigned district •Direct supervisory responsibility for assigned representatives. •Communicate and co-ordinate sales/marketing strategies to representatives •Coach, counsel and manage by objectives (realistic goal setting) •Accountable and responsible for contacts with key External Affairs customers in the region, including Government, Third Party Payers and Special Interest Groups KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: •Manage a Sales division, implementing national cycle sales strategies, and setting goals and objectives in line with strategies. •Establish and roll out sales quotas and budgets for the district and territories. •Identify and report on sales opportunities, requirements and field activities. •Develop personal contacts with "key" physicians, diabetes nurse educators, wholesalers, and all key stakeholders, uncovering needs and sales opportunities. •Provide effective coaching to sales representatives, approve expenses and manage the budget. •Provide leadership, direction, recognition and motivation to salespeople. •Organize and run effective sales meetings and workshops on a cycle basis and as required. •Manage administration of the district business including all representative files, salary and budget.

Specific knowledge

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •University degree or business qualifications •Minimum10 years pharmaceutical sales experience •Previous management experience required •Strong interpersonal and communication skills •Initiative, creativity and independence
