Description

  • Monitor all maintenance activities (Emergency, Preventive Maintenance, Calibration, Shutdown, etc.) required during day to day operations with a focus on maintaining production and compliance.
  • Responsible for maintaining all plant utilities operational for production activities.
  • Play a key role in providing maintenance resources required for commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensures the proper execution of engineering projects
  • Provides technical expertise and supports QA during regulatory inspections
  • Ensuring compliance of the engineering practices with the current GMP requirements and industry’s best practices.
  • Develop annual budget for departments and perform monthly cost tracking activities to remain on budget
  • Introduce and follow key KPI’s for his departments
  • Oversee current Calibration and Preventive Maintenance programs with his responsible maintenance supervisors
  • Resource person for responding to audit requirements
  • Provide monthly departmental updates report to Director
  • Review and formulate department’s preventive maintenance plans and standard operating procedures.
  • Recruit and provide training to maintenance and engineering staff
  • Manage the administration of performance management process including the performance review process, coaching and development of employees within the company culture.
  • Can replace at times any of his direct reports

Specific knowledge

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance operations coupled with 5 years’ experience in a management role
  • Pharmaceutical experience in manufacturing and facilities operations
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP regulations and guidance documents of Canadian, US and European regulatory agencies
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of validation principles, manufacturing processes, quality systems, engineering design fundamentals, regulatory agency expectations and industry trends
  • Advanced computer and software skills
  • Proven management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, coach and lead cross-functional teams
  • Analytical problem solving and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovation
  • Bilingual
