Description

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role is to support the strategic scientific direction of the client with the provision of clinical and scientific information/data to health professionals via scientific exchanges/presentations, primarily with defined Opinion Leaders. These exchanges will provide the necessary background for health professionals to make good sound clinical decisions in the treatment of their patients, and allow the MSL to gain understanding of current treatment and management of patients in Canada. MSLs are expected to be experts in the therapeutic area and a resource of current scientific information to Opinion Leaders and the Boehringer Ingelheim Oncology Team. • Establish and provide scientific expertise to support the assigned region with product and disease state knowledge through individual and group presentations of scientific information • Identify and interact with Opinion Leaders through credible and accurate medical/scientific exchanges of information and appropriately document the scientific exchanges • Ensure MSL metrics (both quantitative and qualitative) are achieved • Contribute to continuous knowledge development of brand, competitors, disease state, and overall therapeutic knowledge. • Attend/participate in approved scientific congresses/meetings in Canada in support of brand. • Perform all company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., Rx&D, PAAB, etc) and Company policies and procedures.

Specific knowledge

Qualifications• MD, PhD, PharmD• Minimum three years medical/clinical and/or field experience in pharmaceutical industry.• Experienced in Oncology, with demonstrated expertise in introducing an oncolgy drug into clinical practice will be an asset• Project Management skills• Excellent communication skills (i.e., verbal, written, presentations) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.• Demonstrated analytical skills and a solid understanding of research methodology• Ability to learn and convey medical/scientific information to healthcare professionals and decision-makers.• Knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical industry guidelines, e.g., Rx&D, PAAB• Bilingual (English/French) is essential for Quebec-based position
